Public Art Program - Information for Artists

METRO is collaborating with the arts community and our neighbors during design and construction of the METRO Solutions rapid transit corridors. A Call To Artists / Request for Qualifications was issued. In addition, legal notices ran in several local publications the week of October 23, 2006. The November 30, 2006 deadline for submissions has expired.

To encourage the participation of local artists, application seminars took place in Houston neighborhoods.

A total of 262 artists submitted their works. By mid-December 2006, METRO will announce the selection of the 40 finalists who will submit their formal proposals for station artwork.
