OVERVIEW
The meeting began with an Open House session (from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.) to provide the public with another opportunity to review the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) document, maps and display boards, and to ask questions regarding the DEIS.
The Public Hearing began at 6:30 p.m. with a brief slide show presentation, followed by the comments provided by over 30 citizens. State Representative Garnet Coleman presented comments, as well as staff members from several elected officials. METRO's Executive Vice President John Sedlak was the Public Hearing Officer. Present Board members included Jackie Freeman, George DeMontrond and Louise Richman. METRO's President and CEO Frank Wilson and senior staff members were also present.
PURPOSE
This was the formal venue for METRO to receive comments from the public regarding the Draft Envirnmental Impact Statement (DEIS). The DEIS is part of a process in compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).
