PURPOSE

The purpose of the scoping process is to determine the scope of the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) to ensure that issues are identified early and properly studied.  These meetings will be the initial procedural step in preparation of a Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS), as required by the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). NEPA requires that these scoping meetings serve to solicit information from the public to narrow issues already identified and to identify any new issues.

To allow time for stakeholders to react to this information, we will extend the public comment period.

COMMENTS/QUESTIONS FROM DISCUSSION PERIOD

  • All of the comments are documented in a Scoping Results Report and will become a part of the alternatives identification and evaluation process.
