FAQs - North Corridor
When will I know if METRO will need my property to implement the project?
During Preliminary Engineering (PE), when more detail is developed on the project and its impacts, METRO will contact the effected owners. This process began in the fall of 2006.
What was the reasoning behind looking at BRT technology variation?
Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) is a less expensive technology that was pursued as an interim option to qualify the transit corridors for federal funding. Click here for more information.
Is the placement of the stations decided or will there still be some changes in station locations?
The location of stations has been determined. Please click here.
What is the Intermodal Terminal project, and how does it relate to the North Corridor project?
The Intermodal Termianl is a separate project from the North Corridor. If implemented, it would serve as a destination and an interchange point with regional travel modes. For more information on the Intermodal Terminal, please click here.
Was there consideration given to grade-separations at Crosstimbers and Fulton?
A grade-separated alignment was evaluated at this intersection, which proved to be very costly. The cost for construction makes it unlikely that this will be an option with which METRO proceeds.
Will the public still have some input during Preliminary Engineering (PE)?
METRO will be working closely with the affected community along the North Corridor throughout the PE and the construction phases of this project.
